A man's confidence, beauty, and charm are all enhanced by his ability to dress properly.
When you're competing with
"on-trend" looks, menswear fashion can be difficult to master.
However, if you want to blend in while still standing out, you don't need to
spend a lot of money on clothes; instead, de-clutter your fears and prejudices
and learn to dress correctly.
Here are some general guidelines that
will serve you well no matter what the situation is.
1) REPLACE THE T
Men all around the world manage to appear trendy even in the most basic of ensembles – and we're not talking about T-shirts and jeans.
Remove the unnecessary, like the T-shirt, and adopt the
Parisian manner of dressing. For a cleaner look, choose a sweatshirt or a
jumper (without a tee) and match it with jeans.
2) REMAIN COMMITTED TO CLASSIC SHIRTS
Shirts are by far the most versatile piece of men's attire. They're appropriate for both a date night and a client meeting.
When it comes to shirts, though, the classics are a clear victor. If
you're not sure about florals and stripes, stick to simple solids the next time
you shop for a shirt.
3) ADD COLOUR LIKE SALT
Adding colour to your wardrobe is an advantage in and of itself, whether it's for a casual day out or a wedding night.
All you need to know is which colours complement your complexion. Contrary to common perception, adding a splash of colour to your monochromatic wardrobe can brighten up your entire ensemble.
When it comes to colour, though, you only
need a pinch, like salt, or else your OOTD would be a fashion faux pas!
4) THE ESSENCE OF LESS
Set aside the popular belief that you should accessorise every piece of clothing with belts, ties, and pocket squares.
Although accessories add classic to a piece of clothing, if they aren't "in sync" with the ensemble, you may want to remove parts of them.
Cross-combining is a good idea when creating an ensemble, but you don't
want to match everything. If you're still unsure, remove one or more items from
the outfit.
5) LAYER IT RIGHT
For an Indian summer getaway, layers of clothing are ideal, but how much layering is too much? The ability to layer garments allows you to see what looks good on your body type.
It is not,
however, advisable to dress in a variety of outfits. Wearing an open shirt over
a tee is a classic layered appearance that will make you appear taller and
thinner.
6) SUMMERS ARE FOR LINEN
Summer weddings in the countryside can provide great relief from the scorching heat of India.
Choose a fabric that
allows your skin to breathe to avoid excessive sweating while remaining
fashionable. Get rid of the cliched kurtas and replace them with linen shirts
to look like the cool person you are!
